Warmth Should Embrace You, Not Weigh You Down

We created our winter silk comforters for the hour when the house is quiet, the heat has eased and the room feels colder than it did at bedtime. Instead of building warmth with stiff, bulky layers, we use generous silk filling that settles close to the body. It follows your shape as you turn, surrounding you with warmth without making the bed feel difficult to move beneath.

That lighter sense of warmth is one of the reasons we have worked with silk for so many years. A winter bed should feel deeply comforting, but it should still feel like your bed—not a pile of weight you have to push away before morning.

Why We Choose Silk for the Coldest Nights

Cold-weather bedding must hold warmth, yet the body continues to release heat and moisture while you sleep. Silk gives us a natural way to balance those two needs. Its fine fibers create warmth while remaining breathable, helping excess heat and dampness move through the comforter instead of collecting close to the body.

For sleepers who often wake because a heavy duvet has become hot and clammy, that balance may make the night feel more settled. Our winter comforters are still made for cold rooms; they are not cooling devices or a treatment for night sweats. If your bedroom is heated or you naturally sleep warm, our All-Season silk comforters may be the better expression of the same silk comfort.

Made for the Way a Winter Bedroom Really Feels

We recommend this winter collection for bedrooms around 41–59°F / 5–15°C. We share that range to make choosing easier, not to pretend every sleeper feels temperature in the same way. Your mattress, sleepwear, partner and personal warmth all become part of the bed you create.

If you find yourself reaching for another layer before dawn, our Winter weight is where we would begin. If your feet are outside the covers even in January, step down to All-Season. And if winter where you live is mild, a lightweight summer silk comforter may give you all the coverage you need. We would rather help you choose the right THXSILK comforter than persuade you to choose the heaviest one.

Choose the Winter Bed You Want to Come Home To

Our individual winter comforters are made for customers who already own a duvet cover or want to choose that outer layer separately. Our winter set pairs the silk-filled comforter with a 19 Momme mulberry silk duvet cover, bringing the smooth touch of silk to the surface as well as the warmth inside. The set includes those two pieces only; sheets and pillowcases remain yours to choose.

Before ordering, compare the listed dimensions with the cover already on your bed. Size names are helpful, but inches are what keep the corners aligned and the comforter from drifting inside the cover. If you only need a new outer layer, our mulberry silk duvet covers let you complete the bed in the color and Momme weight you prefer.

Protect the Silk That Carries You Through Winter

We always recommend using a removable duvet cover. It protects the comforter from nightly friction and body oils, so the silk filling can spend more time on your bed and less time being cleaned. Air the insert in a shaded, well-ventilated place when you change the cover, and follow its own care label for spot or professional cleaning.

Our washable Tussah silk style is made for customers who want easier home care; that instruction does not apply to every winter insert. At the end of the season, let the comforter dry completely, fold it loosely and give it a breathable place to rest. Our silk care guide will walk you through the general routine whenever you need it.

FAQs

Is a silk comforter warm enough for winter?

Yes. We fill this collection specifically for colder bedrooms and recommend it for rooms around 41–59°F / 5–15°C. Silk provides generous warmth with a more fluid, less bulky feel, though your mattress, sleepwear and personal temperature preference still matter.

What is the difference between Winter and All-Season?

Our Winter comforters offer the fullest cold-weather coverage. All-Season sits in the middle for heated rooms and changing weather. We recommend choosing for the coldest part of your night rather than the season name alone.

Does every product include a silk duvet cover?

No. Only our product clearly named a comforter set includes both the insert and duvet cover. Our other winter products are individual comforters, allowing you to pair them with the cover you already own or choose separately.

Can I machine wash a winter silk comforter?

Only when the specific care label permits it. Our washable Tussah style is made for easier home care. For our other winter inserts, use a duvet cover, air them regularly and follow the label for spot or professional cleaning.

Should the comforter and duvet cover have the same size name?

The names should correspond, but we recommend comparing the listed dimensions as well. Exact measurements are more reliable than assuming every Queen or King cover is identical.
