Lightweight Summer Silk Comforters
On a warm night, a sheet can feel too slight and an ordinary duvet can feel like too much. We made our Summer silk comforters for that space in between: a light layer that still gives the bed a settled, covered feeling. Choose mulberry silk for our traditional silk-filled construction, a washable Tussah style for easier care, or the two-piece set when you want the comforter and silk duvet cover together.

A Sheet Is Cool. It Is Not Always Enough
Some of us simply sleep better with something over us. A sheet keeps the bed light, but it does not always give that settled feeling that helps the body stop fidgeting and the mind move on from bedtime. An ordinary duvet solves the coverage problem, then creates another one when the room is already warm.
This is the small gap our Summer silk comforters are made to fill. They are our lightest silk-filled option: enough of a layer to make the bed feel complete, with less filling than our All-Season and Winter weights. Silk lies closer to the body than a high-loft insert, so the comfort feels quiet and fluid rather than bulky. When too much bedding has been interrupting your sleep, a lighter layer can make it easier to stay covered instead of waking to throw it aside.
Summer Weight Means Less Fill, Not Less Thought
We recommend this collection as a starting point for bedrooms around 77–86°F / 25–30°C, warm climates and sleepers who naturally run hot. That range appears on all four current product pages, but it is guidance rather than a rule. Air conditioning, humidity, sleepwear, the mattress beneath you and another person in the bed all change the little climate under the covers.
Silk is useful here because its fine fiber structure is breathable and manages moisture without requiring a large amount of loft. It will not make a hot room cold, but it can help the bed feel less dense and stuffy while you sleep. If your bedroom stays cooler or you want more warmth before morning, move up to our All-Season silk comforters. We would rather help you choose the right weight once than sell you a comforter that spends half the night on the floor.
Choose the Silk, Then Choose the Routine
Three comforters in this collection use mulberry silk filling. They are the choice for customers who want our traditional silk-filled construction, with cotton shells and different levels of material refinement. The Luxury Double Cocoon style uses a 100S jacquard cotton shell and double-cocoon mulberry silk; the standard Summer Lightweight style uses mulberry silk inside a 40S jacquard cotton shell. Our two-piece set pairs its Summer comforter with a removable 19 Momme mulberry silk duvet cover.
The fourth option is deliberately different. Our washable Summer comforter uses Tussah silk filling, a cotton-blend outer shell and stitched construction so it can take a cold, gentle machine cycle when the care label allows. It is not there to imitate the Mulberry styles. It is for the household that values easier cleaning as much as a light summer feel.
Do Not Add the Heat Back with the Wrong Cover
A lightweight insert can only do part of the work. A very dense or heavy cover adds another layer around it and can change how the whole bed feels. Keep the surrounding bedding light enough for your room, and compare exact dimensions so the insert can lie smoothly instead of folding over inside an undersized cover.
Choose the Summer set when you want the comforter and 19 Momme mulberry silk duvet cover already paired. It includes those two pieces only; sheets and pillowcases are separate. If you choose a single comforter, browse our mulberry silk duvet covers and match width and length rather than trusting the
Keep the Summer Routine Light, Too
For the three styles that are not machine washable, a removable cover does most of the everyday work. It takes contact with skin and small marks while the filled layer stays protected inside. When you change the cover, spread the comforter in a shaded, well-ventilated place and give the silk time to release the moisture gathered overnight.
Only the product specifically named Washable should go into a household machine, using its own cold, gentle instructions. For every other insert, follow the sewn-in label for spot or professional cleaning. Our silk care guide explains the general routine, but the label on the comforter always comes first.
FAQs
Is a Summer silk comforter a good choice for a hot sleeper?
It can be. We make our Summer weight with less filling than our All-Season and Winter comforters, giving the bed a lighter, more breathable layer. It cannot cool the room, so we still recommend considering your air conditioning, humidity, sleepwear and mattress.
What is the difference between Summer and All-Season?
Summer is our lightest comforter weight for warm bedrooms and people who regularly push heavier bedding away. All-Season adds more coverage for moderate rooms or nights that become cooler before morning. Start with the way your bedroom feels after you fall asleep, not the season printed on the calendar.
What is included in the Luxury Summer Silk Comforter Set?
Our Summer set includes one silk-filled comforter and one removable 19 Momme mulberry silk duvet cover. It does not include sheets or pillowcases. The other three products on this page are individual comforters.
What is the difference between the Mulberry and washable Tussah styles?
Our three Mulberry options focus on traditional mulberry silk-filled construction and are protected with a duvet cover, regular airing and spot or professional cleaning. Our washable style uses Tussah silk filling, a cotton-blend shell and stitched construction for customers who place a higher priority on easier home care.
Can every Summer silk comforter be machine washed?
No. Only the product specifically named `Summer Lightweight Washable Silk Filled Comforter` is designed for a cold, gentle machine cycle. Use the care label on the exact product; our other Summer inserts should not be treated like ordinary machine-washable bedding.
