The fitted sheet is the part of a beautiful bed that does the least glamorous work. It stretches, grips and takes the movement of the body night after night. If the corners are strained or the pocket is too shallow, even a lovely fabric will gather beneath you or work loose before morning.

We begin with fit for that reason. Our mulberry silk fitted sheets use elastic around the edge, but elastic cannot make up for the wrong measurements. Give the fabric enough depth to sit below the mattress rather than balancing at the top of it. A secure foundation lets the smooth silk surface do what you bought it to do: stay calm beneath the body instead of becoming another thing to adjust in the dark.

Do not measure a bare mattress if you sleep on a protector and topper. Put every permanent layer in place, then measure width, length and the full depth from the bottom edge to the highest point. Compare those numbers with the size chart and pocket depth on the exact product page.

Two mattresses sold under the same Queen or King name can behave differently once extra layers are added. A very deep pocket can also feel loose on a low-profile mattress. We would rather have you spend a few minutes with a tape measure than spend several nights pulling corners back into place.

One reason people choose silk for the bed is the way its smooth surface moves against skin and hair. It may cause less tugging as you turn, and the fabric's breathability can help the contact layer feel comfortable across changing seasons. Those qualities are easier to appreciate when the sheet itself remains anchored.

We do not claim that a fitted sheet will cure restless sleep, erase skin marks or prevent all hair breakage. A better fit simply removes a common interruption: twisted fabric and released corners. Sometimes improving the night begins with solving that small, practical problem.

Follow the care label for the individual sheet or set. When machine washing is allowed, close any zippers on companion pillowcases, turn pieces inside out where practical and use cold water with gentle movement. A neutral detergent made for silk is preferable; bleach, softener and heated drying can be hard on both fibers and elastic.
