100% Mulberry Silk Pillowcases

A pillowcase is a small change, but it sits beneath the face and hair for much of the night. That is why we often start here. Mulberry silk lets hair move with less catching than it may on a rougher weave and gives the face a smooth, non-abrasive surface to rest against.

Many sleepers choose our silk pillowcases to help limit morning tangling, frizz and temporary fabric marks. Silk is also less absorbent than cotton, so it does not draw moisture from the face and hair in quite the same way. The result is not a dramatic overnight transformation; it is a gentler contact surface that keeps doing its work every time you turn the pillow over.

We do not ask anyone to judge a pillowcase by shine alone. “Satin” describes a weave, not a fiber, so a satin pillowcase may be polyester, silk or another material. Mulberry silk tells you what the fabric is made from. Check the fiber content and whether silk is used on both sides; a silk-front pillowcase with a cotton or Tencel back is a different product from one made entirely from mulberry silk.

We offer several Momme weights because people do not all want silk to feel the same. A 19 Momme silk pillowcase feels light and fluid. 22 Momme silk pillowcases have a little more body, while 25 Momme silk pillowcases feel denser. The closure is the part you live with. A hidden zipper keeps the pillow enclosed and the edge neat. An envelope closure uses a fold of fabric instead of hardware. A flange adds a framed border for a more dressed look. Think about how often you remove the case, whether you dislike feeling a zipper near your face, and how you want the pillow to sit on the bed.

We make many core styles in Standard 20 × 26, Queen 20 × 30 and King 20 × 36 inches, while body, contour and toddler pillows use different proportions. Some listings contain one pillowcase; products marked `2 Pack` contain two. Measure unusual pillows and read the pack quantity before ordering—the words “pillowcase” and “set” are easy to skim past.

We want our pillowcases on the bed, not saved in a drawer. Turn the case inside out, place it in a mesh bag and run a short, cold, delicate wash with silk-friendly detergent.
