Mulberry Silk Eye Masks

At THXSILK, we think an eye mask should do two things quietly: soften the light and disappear against the face. Our mulberry silk sleep masks bring a smooth, lightly cushioned surface to bedtime, late mornings, naps and travel—without turning rest into another complicated routine.

Leave the Last Light Outside the Mask

Even a familiar bedroom changes with light. A streetlamp finds the edge of the curtain. A partner keeps reading. Summer arrives at the window before the alarm. On a plane, the cabin decides when morning begins.

We make silk eye masks for those imperfect rooms. Covering the eyes can help create the darker environment many people find easier to sleep in. It is a small change, but it is immediate and portable: no installation, no app and no need to rearrange the entire bedroom.

The Mask Should Fade from Your Attention

A sleep mask works best when you stop noticing it. The band needs enough hold to stay near the eyes, but not so much tension that it becomes the reason you are awake. The front should rest smoothly without a hard edge pressing into the nose or cheek.

Face shape matters. A flat mask may let a little light enter near the nose, especially when the fit is loose. Side sleepers may feel more pressure where the pillow meets the mask or band. We do not call every THXSILK mask a total-blackout design. Check the dimensions and strap details on the product page, then choose the fit you can wear for hours rather than the strongest promise on a label.

Why We Place Mulberry Silk Around the Eyes

The eye area meets the mask for a long stretch of the night. We use mulberry silk because its surface feels smooth and moves with less drag than rougher fabric. That may help reduce tugging and temporary fabric marks when the mask shifts. Silk also absorbs less moisture than many common textiles, so it is less likely to take up as much of the skincare sitting on the surface of your skin.

An eye mask is not skincare. It cannot erase lines, treat dark circles or guarantee that a serum performs better. Its contribution is simpler: a softer contact surface around a delicate area while it helps reduce unwanted light.

One Mask at Home, One Ready to Leave

At home, color can be part of the pleasure. Choose the mask that feels at ease beside your pillow and that you will remember to put on. For travel, darker colors can be more forgiving around makeup, while a clean pouch keeps silk away from zippers, shoes and the bottom of a bag.

Our three-piece set is useful for rotation, sharing or keeping one in more than one place. Check the listing for the exact colors and count; a styled image is not a substitute for the “What's Included” details. For coordinated pillowcase and eye-mask combinations, visit our silk travel sleep sets.

Clean the Part of the Routine That Touches Your Face

Eye masks collect natural oils, night cream and traces of makeup. Leaving that buildup in place works against the reason silk feels good near the face. Wash according to the product label. Cool handwashing with a small amount of pH-neutral silk detergent is the gentlest default.

Do not twist or wring a filled mask. Press it between clean towels and lay it flat in shade, making sure the inner layers and elastic dry completely. Rotate masks if you use one every night. Our silk care guide has the general steps.

Silk Eye Mask FAQs

Will a THXSILK silk eye mask block all light?

It helps reduce unwanted light, but we do not promise total blackout for every face. Light leakage depends on the mask shape, nose area, strap and individual fit. A close, comfortable fit usually performs better than one that is either loose or painfully tight.

Can I use a silk eye mask as a side sleeper?

Yes, but side sleeping can add pillow pressure and move the mask. Choose a soft, low-profile style and make sure the band hardware does not sit at the point where your head presses into the pillow.

Does a silk eye mask prevent wrinkles?

No eye mask can promise that. Silk offers a smooth surface that may reduce rubbing and temporary fabric marks, but it does not prevent skin aging or replace skincare and sun protection.

Is a silk eye mask useful for travel?

Yes. It can help create a darker space during a flight, train ride, hotel stay or daytime nap. Carry it in a clean pouch and let it dry fully before packing after washing.

How do I wash a silk sleep mask?

Follow the care label. We generally recommend cool handwashing with silk detergent, no wringing and flat drying in shade. Filled masks and covered elastic may take longer to dry than a plain piece of silk.
