The benefits of fresh bedding

That feeling of comfort doesn't just exist in our minds when we lie on fresh sheets. Studies have shown that there is a real connection between clean and tidy bedding and the way we sleep.

Choose warm and soft materials

As the queen of fibers, silk contains many elements that are beneficial to the human body. That's why it is a very precious fiber that is made into many products, among which silk quilts are one of the most rewarding products to buy. Quilts made from silk are very light and soft. When you dive into a silk comforter, you will feel wrapped in clouds, very comfortable and relaxing.

Try silk sheets

When we asked Lynn Easton, one of the owners of Zero George, a boutique hotel in Charleston, for advice on how to create a five-star bed, she let us in on a hotelier's little secret: silk sheets. You can add an extra layer of insulation, and the barrier of silk sheets means you don't have to wash your blankets as often. The most comfortable beds are all about layers and creating pockets of warm air, so sneaking in a silk sheet before you add a duvet or comforter is pure genius.

Silk is naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial, so it is rare to find bacteria or dust mites in a silk comforter. For people who suffer from rhinitis or eczema, a silk comforter will be a lifesaver.

Types of Warm Bedding Products

Choosing the right winter decor and bedding for your bedroom and lifestyle will be a piece of cake given the enormous variety of products available on the market.

Oh, the hygge-filled days of winter. Plummeting temperatures call for the coziest silk comforter, accented with a thick cotton fleece quilt and a faux fur blanket for ultimate comfort and warmth, plus a silk throw pillow. While it wasn’t originally intentional, this layered ivory bedding look is reminiscent of freshly fallen snow–does it get any more perfect for winter?

Thanks to its breathability and insulation, it will keep you warm without overheating. Taking care of a silk comforter is also fairly easy. Just put it in some ventilated place that is not exposed to direct sunlight and it will last for a long time.

We strive to prepare our cars, homes, and ourselves for when the seasons change. Why shouldn’t we do the same for our bedding? Keeping warm and getting enough sleep is the best way to stave off pesky winter colds. And with the right bedding layered the right way, you can be sure that you’ll spend your winter night in warm, cozy bliss.
